This position in UHC Accounting will produce and review payments related to various Value Based Contracting Incentive programs. The position maintains general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports, prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications, in accordance with generally–accepted accounting principles and preparation of documentation in support of external and internal audits. It also analyzes and prepares provider statements of financial position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produces, reviews and analyzes provider incentive program payments and related reporting requirements
  • Calculates accrual and records close related journal entries based on monthly provider incentive programs modeling
  • Performs account reconciliations and performs flux analysis
  • Assists in designing and implementing process improvements and controls
  • Prepares internal and external audit support documentation
  • Supporting quarterly and annual statement statutory filing preparation
  • Engages in various new program implementation projects
  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
  • Develops innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
  • Researches payment variances and analyze discrepancies to ensure payment accuracy
  • Researches and provides resolution to provider inquiries

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (concentration in Accounting preferred)
  • 2+ years of Accounting experience
  • Intermediate to advance level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public accounting experience
  • Healthcare experience
  • Accounting experience with regulated entities
  • Experience with Hyperion Essbase, PeopleSoft Financials, and Microsoft Access
