To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year–end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role's duties include internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This Parsippany, New Jersey area–based position is a challenging, multi–faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Your responsibilities in this role:

– Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
– Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
– Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
– Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
– Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
– Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
– Become well–versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
– Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
– Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
– Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
– Take part in various department–wide initiatives
– Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
– Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
– Expert Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel)
– 3+ years of relevant experience
– Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast–paced environment
– Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
– Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
– Strong knowledge of GAAP.
– Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
– Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
– Experience with Longview, Hyperion, or other similar reporting tools.
– BA/BS in Accounting or related field
