pearhead Staffing is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst in Philadelphia, PA. We are seeking a self–motivated, detail oriented, and responsible team player, the Sr. Business Analyst will capture and document the requirements that define the functionality needed by the enterprise to accomplish required business functions. Passionate about meeting the needs of the customer, the Sr. Business Analyst will interact with Management, software developers, customers and vendors to define project scope and facilitate the flow of information necessary to ensure project success. Experience working with Agile methodology, as well as experience with SQL, and BI tools is required for this role.

  • Elicit requirements using interviews, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Assess business requirements, analyze business events, and evaluate and document possible solutions
  • Assist the business in documenting process flows. Create and maintain workflows, approvals, and ensure understanding of internal stakeholder requirements
  • Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner using the Footprints tracking system
  • Work directly with and serve as the liaison between business units, technology teams and support teams
  • Assist in quality assurance testing on an as–needed basis. Help coordinate end–user acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with developers, other business analysts and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Research and collaborate with other project teams tasked with identifying current and future business needs
  • Monitor business processes in order to determine potential process and system improvements and automation opportunities
  • Create training materials and documentation for users and train end users on new and/or enhanced applications, as needed
  • Deliver informative, well–organized presentations
  • Develop thorough understanding of operational business functions
  • Leads the effort to break down user stories into development and testing tasks
  • Participates in all scrum ceremonies
  • Updates system of record with work item history and hours spent on each assigned task


5 – 10 or more years' experience in the following:

  • Defining requirements, developing test plans and executing test scripts required
  • Direct experience in agile project management methodologies is required; specifically, converting requirements into user stories and grooming/ managing the product backlog along with or on behalf of the product owner
  • Experience working on complex projects and managing release schedules across multiple initiatives is required
  • Experience using project tracking software, such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server or JIRA, is required
  • Comprehensive experience with all facets of SDLC – functional requirements definition, system design, development, testing, deployment, support
  • Experience with database querying tools for writing SQL statements and business intelligence tools such as Oracle BI is required


  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience, is required.
  • Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Product Owner certifications are preferred.
Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Professional Business Analyst (PMI–PBA) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI–ACP) designations are preferred.
