The Senior Business Analyst works primarily with the members of the health plan leadership team on researching and analyzing medical cost trends resulting from benefit plans, provider contracts, and utilization of services.
Essential Job Duties
  • Provide?support to?a multidisciplinary team, tasked with identifying new intervention opportunities through benefits, provider contracts, or utilization management, and/or measuring the impact of interventions previously implemented
  • Work cooperatively with internal Prominence Health departments; interact with peers at UHS facilities and third party vendors, and subject matter experts at UHS Corporate in medical economics and informatics
  • Extract?data from multiple data sources for analyzation and reporting
  • Work across multiple business units to?bridge the gap between Information Technology and business objectives, by partnering with various stakeholders to develop requested data and reports
  • Provide?analytic?recommendations and business support
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Sciences, or related field with 3 – 5 years' experience.
  • Health Plan or healthcare experience is required; project management is a plus
  • Strong SQL experience for data retrieval and reporting purposes
  • Excellent report writing ability and analytics. Experience with SSRS is preferred
  • Familiarity with relational databases
  • Experience analyzing health plans claims data
  • Experience with data warehouse platforms and tools
  • Experience using data analysis software (i.e., SAS, SPSS, SQL, Python, R, etc.) and health care analytical tools such as Verisk, Crimson Pop Health, Deerwalk, or similar tools
  • Experience in working with QNXT, Impact and/or any claim processing application is preferred
  • Experience with working data visualization tools such as Qlik, SSAS, Tableau is a plus
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, Visio, Power–point, Publisher, etc.)
