POSITION PURPOSE:The Accountant III is responsible for accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements; assists in ensuring accounting transactions are executed in accordance with established standards of internal control and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).. This position possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult Accounting assignments. The Accountant III is responsible for supporting the Accounting and Finance team in achieving the mission, vision and goals of the organization. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Accounting Administration (10%) Assists with monthly financial presentations and analysis. Acts as a backup for accounting staff to ensure proper staffing needs are met and to enable achievement of staff department goals. Assists in process improvement projects as identified. Financial Reporting (20%) Responsible for preparing Consolidated Financial Statements including monthly, quarterly and annual intercompany consolidation reports for Parent Companies. Assists in monthly / annual financial reporting process. General Ledger Administration (60%) Prepares accruals; estimates amount to accrue, defer, reverse or change based upon historical data and knowledge of business. Identify/research/resolve any unusual balances for the Balance Sheet and P&L. Completes annual external and internal audit requests (domestic and international). Qualifications:Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree from four–year college or university in Accounting. 6+ years accounting experience. Proficient in various computer programs. Strong Microsoft Excel experience. Education and Experience Preferred: Advanced in Accounting. 3–5 years public accounting, analyzing of financial statements in a global organization. Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Other (knowledge, skills and abilities): Good interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills to be applied with internal staff and external parties. Broad and advanced knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS, etc.) Meticulous, well–organized and highly motivated to complete assignments with strict deliverables and reporting deadlines on a timely basis. Ability to work independently and as a team under pressure and adaptable to change. Ability to analyze data and prepare meaningful reports for the management team. Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships, understand our business and our customer's business, demonstrate intelligent flexibility and business judgment. Regular business hours; some after–hours work will be required on evenings and weekends. Requires use of office equipment such as computers, fax machines, telephones, and copiers. Required sitting and computer–related activities for extended periods of time. Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds; will follow Company safety and ergonomic guideless to avoid injury.
