LS Power is a power generation and transmission group with a proven track record of successful development activities, operations management and commercial execution. LS Power has been involved in the development, construction, or operations of over 41,000 MW of power generation and over 630 miles of high–voltage transmission lines throughout the United States. LS Power is actively developing both power generation and transmission infrastructure to serve the need for new generation and improve the aging transmission system. Highly regarded in the financial community, LS Power has raised over $40 billion in capital to support investments in energy infrastructure. We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant for our Funds Accounting team based out of our East Brunswick, NJ office. Responsibilities Prepare quarterly work papers for the funds and related entities Book journal entries Ensure there is sufficient documentation to support all activity and journal entries Prepare quarterly financial statements Prepare quarterly investor capital account statements Prepare capital call and distribution files Calculate capital needs based on new investments and estimated future expenses Calculate distributions based on available proceeds and in accordance with the funds' partnership agreements Send notices to investors specifying their portions of the calls or distributions Monitor bank accounts for incoming and outgoing wires Assist in the annual audit by gathering support requested by the auditors Work with accounts payable to process invoices and wires Review the expenses and obtain the proper approval before initiating wires Ad hoc projects assigned by manager Requirements A Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting. Private Equity and Public accounting experience a plus. CPA Candidate preferred. Must have very good communication skills both written and verbal. Attention to detail. Work well independently and within a team atmosphere. Self–starter, with ability to operate effectively with limited supervision. Please be sure to review our privacy policy here:
