LOCATION: Minneapolis – Corporate

General Description

The Senior SAP Business Analyst utilizes his or her understanding of enterprise business processes to ensure requests for IT are strategically aligned and are delivered as efficiently as possible. This position requires an in depth understanding of at least 1 functional area within SAP. In this role the incumbent is responsible for:
  • Interfacing with Business Users, Business Analysts, Developers and Infrastructure team to determine the most efficient and cost–effective IT approach to meet business requirements.
  • Request execution and management.
  • Communication and Change Management.
  • Production Support and Measurement.
  • The ability to travel 20% of the time within North America (including Canada) during active implementations.
Interface with Business Users, Business Analysts, Developers and Infrastructure team to determine the most efficient and cost–effective IT approach to meet business requirements:
  • Act as the IT liaison to and representative for multiple business units and functional areas.
  • Develop business requirements for new requests such as project concept, scope, benefit, budget and timelines.
  • Determine the most efficient and cost–effective IT approach and solution to meet business requirements.
Request execution and management:
  • Collaborate with Project Management, IT management and key business representatives to establish project/request objectives and priorities.
  • Participate in the development of IT statements of work (SOW) including developing timelines and scheduling resources.
  • Acquire and coordinate project resources, as required, to most effectively meet project requirements and provide performance measurement and coaching as needed.
  • Organize and monitor testing, training, documentation and sign offs.
  • Configure and implement SAP changes.
Level IV
  • Provide project leadership on large projects and initiatives.
  • Supervise Business Analysts in the completion of assigned projects and project tasks.
  • The ability to lead functional blue printing for at least one area of SAP during Apogee business unit implementations.
Communication and Change Management:
  • Identify, communicate, and implement business process change to ensure benefits are achieved.
  • Provide communication links to team members and senior management.
  • Identify, monitor, and communicate project risk factors, issues, status, and results to the business.
  • Understand the overall Business and IT Strategic Plans and translate into IT initiatives.
  • Provide change management to be utilized throughout projects.
  • Define measure, track milestones and communicate business changes.
  • Communicate existing system limitations and the budget impacts of requested customizations.
Level IV
  • Identify, prioritize and manage resolution of potential barriers to a successful implementation.
  • Manage individuals and cultural resistance to increase the readiness for change.
  • Recognize and introduce enterprise level process enhancements.
Production Support and Measurement:
  • Support multiple business units.
  • Support and manage process enhancements requested from business users including continuous improvement, special projects and production support.
  • Assure that the deployment and support efforts meet business requirements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree (Computer Science, MIS or equivalent).
  • Level III –– 6+ years and Level IV 10+ years of progressive IT related experience
  • SAP functional experience in multiple modules (ABAP skills highly desired)
  • Certification or training in one or more disciplines such as project management, change management or business process re–engineering is highly desirable

  • Ability to understand strategic and business objectives and how they might impact the business process design and requirements
