Reporting to the Group FC of this £120m turnover organisation, you will manage a small team to ensure an accurate, efficient payroll service for 1000+ employees.
My client are a group of diverse, industry-leading businesses within the engineering, manufacturing and distribution sectors. They turn over approximately £120m and are backed by a private equity investor.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller you will manage a small team and ensure an accurate, efficient and effective payroll service for the whole Group, ensuring that employees are paid correctly and on time.
Specific responsibilities:Running weekly and monthly payrolls for approx. 1000 employee's using Opera Payroll system
Ensuring that correct payments are made to appropriate third parties such as HMRC / pension providers,
Preparation of tax year-end (P60's) and P11D including company cars
Preparation of reports by summaries of earning, taxes and deductions
Developing good relationships with Site Managers, resolving problems promptly, providing technical advice and recommending improvements.
Desired candidate profile:Experience of managing a large payroll within an in-house payroll environment
Experience dealing directly with stakeholders in a multi-site environment
Up to date experience of UK payroll legislation and an understanding of payroll delivery and Employee / Payroll / Benefit systems
Excellent customer service skills to build internal and external relationships, the ability to take ownership, and strong people management skills
Effective organisational and project management skills, and the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
This role will pay a competitive basic salary, appropriate for a Payroll Manager position of this scale.
