POSITION:

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, primary responsibilities will be financial reporting & analysis, finance based transactional activities, legal and regulatory compliance and the integration of new acquisitions across a portfolio of brands within the Business Unit Manager Group. The successful candidate will be offered more opportunities and be expected to grow within the organisation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analysing and communicating financial results
  • Support and challenge the business heads with the Group’s Quarterly Strategic Review process
  • Responsible for the end-to-end process for financial transactions including billing, accounts payable, cash allocation and credit control
  • Ensuring integrity of financial transactions for accurate monthly management    accounting and balance sheet reporting
  • Driving improvement of working capital management throughout the business
  • Manage the financial analyst(s) to produce timely and reliable management information on a monthly basis to tight deadlines
  • Along with Business Unit Manager, certify quarterly financial statements and internal control compliance checklists for submission to Jonas Head Office
  • Perform/review month end schedules and returns, including completing required journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Identify and investigate variances against benchmarks, provide analysis of differences, and explore potential problems with financial and non-financial department heads
  • Capture data and analyse to provide support to business decision making
  • Liaise with Jonas Head Office to meet all routine and ad-hoc reporting requirements
  • Take the lead on various projects, including new acquisition integrations which will involve liaising with personnel from non-financial backgrounds
  • Responsible for the preparation of periodic financial statements and supporting schedules, together with variance analyses, tax computations and cash flow forecasts
  • Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers, advise on the business impact and make appropriate recommendations
  • Leading (in co-ordination with the Portfolio Controller) process improvement and redesign projects alongside the ongoing management of change initiatives including the implementation of new systems and the automation of manual processes
  • Leading the integration of the financial operations of acquired businesses into the Group finance structure
  • Support the Portfolio Controller to ensure compliance with all statutory and taxation matters, including PAYE, NI, Corporation Tax and VAT
  • Manage the statutory external audit process for legal entities within the group
  • Maintain company secretarial records and filings
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members through regular feedback, reviews and development plans
  • Assisting in tax planning
  • Research and analyse topics related to finance, systems and/or valuations not previously encountered
  • Support the wider business management team in providing financial information and resolution of business matters
  • Actively manage relationships across the organisation and within Finance
  • Contribute to the success of the overall corporate strategy.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial analysis skills
  • Some familiarity with accounting systems, ideally Great Plains
  • People management, leadership and mentoring skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • Strong Excel modelling, data interrogation and reconciliation skills
  • Knowledge of IFRS is an asset
  • Experience in software or high tech industry is an asset.

  • Excellent analytical, research and problem solving skills
