Management Accountant - 6 Month Contract
The Role
The Management Accoutant will be a hands-on all-rounder with an Accounting or Finance background who is willing to assist in a wide range of analytical and administration aspects of the business, across both the business lines. Business-partnering opportunities will be on offer in areas such as management accounting, financial reporting, cost control, accounts payable/receivable management and accounting processes/controls. This role would suit an ambitious professional in the developing stages of their career looking to expand their experience in a growing company.
Responsibilities
- Prepare management reports across business lines and perform variance analysis
- Assist with month-end financial close to ensure business operations are accurately reported
- Support the business with purchase order management, compliance and cash collection
- Assist the business in managing supplier relationships and ensuring on-time and accurate invoicing and payment
- Analyse opex and capex to identify efficiencies and savings opportunities
- Maintain revenue, cost and cash flow forecasts for Motors and Energy
- Budget tracking of major Energy projects
- Advise on accounting treatment of local business arrangements
- Drive process improvement across both the businesses and support the business team during this significant growth period
- Work with internal teams to develop and refine accounting process, procedures and controls
- Escalate critical issues to management in a timely manner
- Assist with special projects and data analysis as needed
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline
- CA/CPA qualified (candidates currently completing or willing to complete one of these qualifications also considered)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, detail oriented, and execution focused
- Proven record of prioritising effectively and handle shifting priorities
- Ability to work across multiple systems and platforms and an understanding of general ledger structure and transactions
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role (candidates with internship experience also considered). Big 4 accounting/consulting experience favourably considered.
