Delivering high-quality research and analysis to investors around the world, the Global
Research team covers economics, currencies, equities, fixed income and climate change to help our clients best navigate and make sense of turbulent global financial markets. Global Research offers fundamental, cross-asset, technical and quantitative analysis presented through multiple platforms and formats.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Associate Director, Business Management .

Principal responsibilities ​

  • Formulate an overall strategy to execute the broker vote scoring process in an efficient manner.
  • The candidate must be effective in mobilizing resources across various research and sales teams in order to streamline and standardize the broker votes.
  • Have an in depth understanding of various research functions across geographies.
  • Interact regularly with research management and provide them with regular feedback and progress on all fronts.
  • Maximize result potential in industry wide external surveys.
  • Educate and motivate the analysts about the external survey to drive best in class results. Also need to track analysts' progress on a regular and standardized basis
  • Actively engage with key stakeholders from Global Banking and Markets build an effective personal network, promote cross businesses collaboration and represent Global Research in such initiatives
  • Adhere to HSBC policy, procedures and control requirements applicable to day to day working and promptly raise any concerns in line with reporting and escalation procedures about actual or potential issues
  • Contribute to Global Research initiatives from time to time
  • Understand and comply with all relevant policies and procedures issued by the Group and contained within the Group Standards Manual and relevant Functional Instruction Manuals, Desk Instruction Books and Process Guides


Qualifications
Requirements ​
  • Relevant years of experience in business management function
  • Prior experience work in Global Research is highly desirable
  • Strong technical skills in analysing large data sets
  • Experience in interaction with senior level management on a regular basis
  • Client knowledge and understanding of research business including both equity and macro asset classes
  • Understanding of financial markets, relevant terminology and current affairs
  • Possess effective presentation, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage and work with people of all levels.
  • Ability to exercise fair judgment in decision making with strong thought process
  • Resourceful, with solid analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to motivate and drive team members to achieve a common goal.
  • Proven track record of working with management at different levels and delivering on complex projects independently
