Our Not-for-profit client is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their growing team in Oxford, parking on site.
Client Details
Our client is a well known not for profit organisation based on the outskirts of Oxford with onsite parking provided. The organisation has grown out of a restructure and is going from strength to strength.
Description
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for:
- Maintaining income records using the finance system
- To check allocation of cost centres for all income, and investigate unknown receipts
- Ensure that all bank accounts and control accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and queries are resolved promptly
- Prepare weekly cash and cheque banking for collection
- Prepare Gift Aid claims
- Issuing invoices and pursuing late payments
- Answer queries from donors and Trust employees
There is scope for development in this role and the role could also involve:
- Post month end journals relating to deposits, investments, payroll, accruals and prepayments
- Assist the Head of Finace with compiling internal financial reports
- Any other reasonable duties which may be delegated from time to time by the Head of Finance
Profile
This is a broad role which could expand over time. The successful Finance Assistant will be:
- AAT qualified, ACA/ ACCA part qualified, or qualified by experience
- Experience working in a similar role and with large finance systems desirable
- Experience with not for profit organisations
- Excellent numerical skills
- Good attention to detail
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Able to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
- Organised and able to meet tight month end deadlines
Job Offer
The salary on offer is between £23,000 and £28,000 dependent on experience and qualification.
