Job Description

Job description will include but is not limited to: * Assisting with data scheduling/bookkeeping/VAT * To maintain client records on our central database * Carrying out all office procedures for new clients, for example completing the money-laundering requirements and registering with HMRC * Preparing bulk mailings either by email or letters for circulation to clients * Assisting with running client payrolls, both weekly and monthly using Moneysoft Payroll Manager * Learning Software Systems such as Receipt bank, QuickBooks & Xerofor a purchase ledger and sales ledger of clients * Learning how to use new cutting-edge bookkeeping technology and software so we can continue to lead in innovation * Bookkeeping including bank reconciliation, matching invoices andpetty cash * Preparing VAT returns for submission to HMRC and for review of a Senior Accountant * Learning how to prepare company accounts in a time efficientmanner Marketing Activities: * Attending Seminars/Networking Events * Being an initial point of contact for new and existing clients alike * Meeting with clients to demonstrate new pieces of technology Other office duties: * Answering the phone. * Communicating efficiently and politely with good English skills by email * Administration work such as sending invoices, contactingHMRC/Companies House * Scanning client provided files for completion by other members of the team * Chatting to clients when they arrive and offering a drink * Networking at least once a month promoting the business * Keeping the office tidy and presentable * Opening the office at 09:00 consistently Requirements and prospects Desired skills Soft skills sought: * Efficient communication skills * Problem-solving skills * The desire to learn * Teamwork * Managing your time efficiently Technical skills: * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Outlook, Word & Excel * Fundamental knowledge of computers * 60+ WPM Typing Speed Personal qualities * Ability to build strong relationships * The ability to think outside of the box to solve problems * Desire to have a successful career in finance, can at least stay with us for 2-3years and grow alongside the business * Comfortable with interacting with clients/Understands good customerservice * Ability to work as part of a team * Ability to manage own workload * Being flexible - as different tasks may come and go Desired qualifications * GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in maths and English Future prospects After completing AAT we will be able to fully support the employee to studythe ACCA or ICAEW.Taking on a leadership role.
