Assistant Accountant (PQ) - 12mth FTC - Edinburgh £25,000- £27,000 + Study Support
Change recruitment group are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading Edinburgh based SME, who are now looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join to their finance function. The initial appointment is a 12mth FTC to cover maternity leave
but could go on longer.
Key responsibilities: · Day to day financial management, including VAT recording and reporting, performance of financial controls · Stakeholder management and reporting, including provision of management accounts, budgets, cash-flows, and forecasts · Preparation of monthly management accounts and year end statutory accounts · Liaising with external auditors to manage and assist the audit requirements
Key skills and experience: · ICAS / ACCA part qualified or equivalent in experience · Experienced in working in a similar role, coming from an accountancy / audit practice would be an advantage but not essential · Excellent communication skills, ability to deliver to stakeholders · Knowledge of accounting SAGE Line 50 would be possible · Experienced in Preparing / reviewing month end and year end journals · Experience of financial controls and VAT reporting · Experience of reviewing and considering tax computations · Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
