**Your opportunity** **Deloitte's Scottish financial services practice is our largest financial services practice outside London and specialises in the provision of audit and assurance services to the financial service industry.** External audit is core to our business and we leverage this skill set to support our clients on assurance engagements in areas such as accounting and regulatory change, client money, internal audit, treasury and prudential risk, transaction services and finance transformation. **Your role**

As a Senior Manager within the Audit & Assurance practice, you will:

Take responsibility for the delivery of a high quality audit engagements from planning through to reporting;

Manage key audit relationships, with a focus on exceptional client service;

*

Be responsive to and anticipate client needs and provide relevant insight;

*

Drive continuous improvement through innovation and transformation, embracing change and challenging the way we do things to develop new ways of working;

*

Participate in and respond to feedback from internal and external inspections to enhance audit quality;

*

Build relationships across service lines and geographies to deliver market and client focused audit solutions;

*

Be part of a wider community to help develop and delivery our strategy; and

Location: You will be based in either the Deloitte Edinburgh or Glasgow office, however travel will be required for client based projects. Whilst working with the local market is our priority, our clients are varied, helping enable our people to get the best experience and develop as professionals. Accordingly, we do spend time on site with regional and London based clients. We specify full mobility for our audit roles but we make arrangements respectfully.

Work pattern: This is a permanent contract opportunity.

**Your professional experience**

A successful candidate is likely to possess some or all of the following characteristics:

*

Relevant professional qualification, such as the ACA or ACCA;

*

Experience of auditing in the financial services sector, with a thorough knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (PCAOB audit experience and knowledge of US GAAP reporting is desirable but not essential);

*

Commitment to audit quality and demonstrable experience of applying professional scepticism;

*

Proven track record of establishing and maintaining distinctive relationships with senior clients;

*

Strong leaderships skills both on engagements and in an office environment;

*

Experience of motivating and developing high performing teams;

*

A track record of embracing and delivering change;

*

Strong report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills; and

*

Experience of managing and improving engagement economics.
