The role is newly formed due to expansion so there's plenty of job stability and growth within the company. It would best suit a personable and experienced individual with a couple of years experience, that's looking to broaden their skillset within the Legal field.

Client Details

The client is a reputable Law firm based in Canary Wharf that predominantly specialises real estate and private wealth division. They're looking to hire within their team of 20 due to expansion and they boast a vibrant and bubbly office and they're looking for someone that suits that environment.

Description

The key responsibilities include:

    • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial reports as defined by managementConduct quarterly partner reviews of aged WIP, disbursements, and client account balancesTake ownership of the monthly billing schedule and process for key clients
    • Review and process invoices and credit notes ensuring compliance with the firm's policies and HMRC/SRA rules
    • Assist and advise fee earners and secretaries on the correct use of our billing and time recording systems
    • Maintain reconciliations for the firm's bank accounts
    • To oversee the day to day processing of WIP, including:-
    • File write offs and transfers
    • File closure and archiving
    • Update and review the monthly overhead expenditure schedule
    • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports using our management information system and SQL reporting tool as required
    • Deal with audit requests from clients
    • Review and release payments on behalf of our cashiers
    • Set up new user grades and charge rates on system
    • Assist in the delivery of software and other projects as required
    • Assist with year-end accounting and the financial audit
    • Continually appraise existing processes to inform system and procedural development

Profile

The successful candidate:

  • 2 years+ relevant experience within a law firm (ESSENTIAL)
  • Is NOT studying ACCA!
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and unsupervised to meet the varied needs of the department
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibly when required
  • Ability to pick up new systems and procedures quickly
  • Organised manner with ability to prioritise workload
  • Motivated and pro-active with a 'can-do' approach
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality
