Amazon Finance Operations was created to support rapid growth across all business units. The goal of the team is to deliver a seamless procure-to-pay process that enables Amazon's ongoing expansion within Europe. We are seeking an experienced candidate to identify, analyse, create, develop, and innovate solutions that lead to improvements in our European Finance Operations. The team is embedded in the business, working closely with procurement teams, external customers, operations, and other functions within our multiple business units. This fast developing department now needs a Corporate AP Business Partner Manager to become a major contributor to the fast paced world of Global Accounts Payable. The incumbent will partner closely with the business teams to develop and enhance a robust review and analysis capability. Ensuring Finance Operations are led with highest levels of controllership, customer satisfaction and at the lowest cost to Amazon. You will define and establish best practice and coordinate policies with the Finance Operations leadership team based out of worldwide Amazon locations. This is an exciting role, at the heart of Amazon's European finance group. It involves working with multiple business units, business partnering, building additional functionalities, streamlining processes and driving Self Service tools and adoption. Our operations environment presents great challenges in dealing with front line management, driving scalable and continuous improvement including controllership. Responsibilities will include: • You will lead and represent the EMEA Corporate AP Finance Operations for a specific set of business partners and assist other Finance Operations leaders across the EMEA. • You will lead and drive Senior Management meetings with Business Partners on key Finance Operations issues. • You will ensure that the Finance Operations activities are aligned with rest of EMEA and Global Finance Operations organisation. • You will ensure that the respective activities of the regions are operated in a highly controlled manner (with respect to existing Compliance & Policies procedures). • You will build better, scalable models and overcome language support challenges in a cost effective way through the implementation of better tools, technologies and best practice. • Drive expansion of Self Service functionality and improvement in Supplier experience through more timely and effective communications • Working closely with Business Partners in UK, EMEA, and Globally, to identify process improvement opportunities for existing processes and controls, and drive positive change across the organization by working with Finance, Operations, and Systems teams to scope and implement solutions • Applying knowledge of multiple reporting systems to deliver solutions. This requires advanced computer literacy (MS Office, especially Excel) and the aptitude to understand system dependencies. • Supporting internal customer groups in Finance, Vendor Management and Project Management About you The ideal candidate will be an intelligent, talented person who is a qualified accountant (CPA / ACCA / ACA / CIMA) experienced in an industry finance role with an understanding of Finance Operations (AP & AR), periodic financial reporting and related analytical analysis with knowledge of various operational finance procedures and policies ideally from a Retail environment. You will have demonstrated the ability to successfully lead complex, milestone driven projects. Additional traits we are looking for are a strong desire to exceed expectations, effective interpersonal skills; including persuasive written and oral communication, solid organisational skills, ability to assess and manage risk and some experience with information technology.
