They are now looking Financial Controller. The role is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial and management accounts as well as the financial planning budgeting systems and reporting systems. The Financial Controller will work
closely with the Senior Partner and Partnership Secretary and will is a critical partner in developing and driving the agreed business strategy, ensuring this is reflected in individual team business plans and budgets. Responsibilities Overseeing Reporting and Budgeting. Prepare the annual budget for the firm and Prepare draft accounts and balance sheets. Manage, maintain and update cashflow forecasts for the firm. Produce monthly and year-end WIP by matter partner report for statutory accounts purposes. Produce monthly and yearly budget forecasts. Prepare year end audit of accounts. Ensure all internal and external financial reporting deadlines are met. Monitor and track all accrual and prepayments. Monitor firm time recording, cash position, aged WIP and receivables, taking action to ensure firm lock up is minimised. Calculate depreciation and manage fixed asset register. Prepare quarterly review packs for the Executive Team. Preparation of detailed analyses from the financial accounts for tax computation purposes where necessary. Full management of all monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts. Review and approve all client bank account reconciliations. Ensure transactions are processed in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules. Deal with all aspects of Partner Capital/Current/Tax accounts. Oversee quarterly management of VAT returns. Oversee and process monthly payroll changes throughout the year and annual salary review changes, bonuses, P11ds and P60s. Respond to accounting, Tax, VAT, SRA Accounts Rules and other finance queries. Prepare and manage annual SRA and Statutory Accounts audits. Ensuring that audit entries and adjustments are accurately reflected in the accounting ledgers. Candidate Profile Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) University degree, ideally in a numerate or science discipline highly desirable Extensive experience gained in the legal sector operating finance processes in accordance with the SRA Accounts Rules Strong SQL query skills with strong data extraction and analysis skills Highly developed commercial acumen, analytical and financial modelling skills Able to present complex financial data and concepts in a clear and concise and communicate with staff at all levels Important Notice It is Career Legal's policy, as a matter of courtesy, to respond to all applications within three working days.
