Heyland Finance are currently assisting our client, a niche SME subsidiary of an international business based in the Warrington area as they look to appoint an experienced Financial Controller. Our client has enjoyed consistent profit making over a sustained

period of time which is a direct result from their numerous loyal client portfolio and deep embedded relationships. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will take full responsibility for the day to day running of the finance function, ensuring that the company complies with all statutory reporting guidelines. You will get involved with other ad-hoc

duties that may not necessarily fall under the conventional "Financial Controller" remit. As Financial Controller your core duties will include; The management of the local accounts and production team on a daily basis including appraisals and training requirements. Being an active member of the local management team, including monthly meetings and Board meetings when required. The completion of local and group monthly reporting. Completion or supervision of all VAT aspects of the local business, including Returns, Deferment Account administration, Instrastats and EC Sales List requirements. General Ledger postings, including accruals and prepayments, depreciation, currency conversions and general journals. The continual asset tracking and recognition, including disposal. Monthly forecast updates and reporting for the local site Monthly budget updates and reporting for the local site Annual Budget preparation, information collating, verification and reporting for the local site to the management team, Board and Group. Any ad hoc Financial Reporting for the Group and Local Management. Preparation, leading, directing and ensuring completion of any audits that are required for the UK, internally or externally, including Tax and Statutory reporting for the UK Liaising with external service providers and bodies, including Auditors, Banks, HMRC, Pension Providers, Insurance Brokers and Payroll. Ensuring that the Credit Policy is maintained, including continual assessment of credit limits and credit risk of existing and potential customers and suppliers. Producing and updating Monthly Salaries and Pension payments along with any ensuring any government requirements are met, RTI, auto-enrolment, etc. Maintaining and monitoring all local product costings and calculations to ensure profitability is correctly maintained and reported, highlighting any products or operations that fall below required margins. Updating and producing annual Transfer Pricing documentation and any internal pricing structure changes with other international units in order to ensure compliance with any Distribution Agreements needed for compliance with HMRC. Continually review costs and identify any potential cost savings for the business, with reasoning and risks of any potential changes. REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA Financial Controller / Finance Manager who has previous experience of working in a hands-on SME business environment.
