My client is a successful specialist manufacturing group with a global presence. This business is a market leader in their field, who operate at pace with a continually evolving product range. Due to relocation of the role this business is looking to add a Tax professional into their accounting team in Sheffield.
Reporting in to the Head of Global Tax the successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of tax for the UK group, tax consultancy on cross boarder projects, group reporting and working on a variety of tax initiatives. Duties will include;
Provide tax consultancy to the operational business in respect of the taxation of cross border design and build projects within the Metals industry, including tax registrations, Permanent Establishments, withholding taxes, VAT and similar taxes. Monitor the tax compliance of cross border projects and ensure tax returns and payments are managed appropriately. Manage the UK corporate tax, VAT, and other taxes for the UK resident Joint Venture Headquarter / Operational Company and Group Finance Company, including review the VAT returns produced by accounting staff and preparation of corporate tax returns and PSA. Provide general UK tax advice in all areas of tax (corporate, VAT and employment taxes) and build strong relationships with company functions as well as third party advisors. Support on the consolidation and management of quarterly IFRS corporate and deferred tax reporting for the worldwide group, including Effective Tax Rate and cash tax payments, liaison with Auditors, training and support to subsidiary entities. Manage and collect data for tax risk reports, CFC and CbC reporting for the group companies and permanent establishments. Take necessary actions to resolve any open issues. Assist with the preparation of the annual transfer pricing. documentation reports for the UK company. Develop and maintain a good relationship with UK tax authorities and ensure full Senior Accounting Officer status is maintained. Manage and support on ad hoc tax initiatives such as off payroll working.
Suitable candidates will:
Be ACA / ACCA or CTA qualified with significant experience in a UK tax role Strong accounting skills with a full understanding of IFRS deferred tax and current taxation for multinational groups. A broad understanding and ability to manage UK taxation for UK companies both as a governance owner and as a 'hands on' worker. Self-starter working on own initiative within a small global tax team. Ability to formulate tax critical decisions and ensure such decisions are enacted within the business. Ability to convince non tax specialists to adhere to tax decisions and the ability to build up strong co-operative relationships within the worldwide group.
