A very successful private equity backed lender is looking for a Senior Credit Manager to join the expanding Credit & Risk team of its luxury automobile lending business. This is an exciting opportunity for a smart, ambitious, and experienced Underwriter looking for his/her next move to be part of a leading auto lending business and team.
Within this key role, you will work closely with members of the Credit Team, reporting to the CRO and you will assist the company in achieving its business objectives through effective underwriting, portfolio management and reporting.
Our client is looking for a seasoned Underwriter with significant track record in underwriting HNWI (offshore and onshore) and ideally with experience in high end cars. The individual will be an excellent communicator and will bring enthusiasm and a strong work ethic to this growing and dynamic team. You will get excited by the thought of working in a fast-paced, engaging environment and able to confidently work under pressure and against deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Overseeing the underwriting process in line with company credit policy framework Focus on large lend (£300k+) underwriting of typically complex corporate/ individual profiles Liaising with relevant internal/ external account managers to enable decisions and manage expectations Managing the client experience including face-to-face meetings as part of the underwriting process Sitting on Credit Committee reviewing proposals underwritten by junior Underwriters in conjunction with other senior employees Assistance in the development of improved process and practices in line with business growth Additional support and training of junior underwriters as part of team and personal development plans Skills and Qualifications
At least 5 years' experience within underwriting role (credit/ risk) Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, AAT, CIMA etc.) or relevant Degree/ Certification in relevant field such as Economics, Business or Accounting Experience in assessing company accounts including complete understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet and liquidity Work experience in a bank or asset lender (preferred) ideally with experience of working with high net worth individuals Experience of operating under a tiered mandate structure Strong numeracy and reporting skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Highly organised and superb attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Ability to deliver to clear and defined expected outcomes Successful candidates will be rewarded with competitive salary, annual performance based bonus, private healthcare and dental, pension and annual leave of 25 days.
