Assurance Department - Audit Manager
The Audit Manager is responsible for managing multiple engagements and other related activities. Providing attest services which includes performing audits of financial statements, conducting reviews, compilations of special reports, debt compliance, regulatory and other compliance reporting.
The successful candidate will:
* Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year and establish expectations of value to be delivered.
* Participate in performing audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues.
* Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risk.
* Manage more than one engagement simultaneously, while driving the engagement teams' efficiency and ensuring that all time-lines are monitored and adhered to.
* Generate new business opportunities.
* Develop junior employees through coaching, mentoring and training initiatives.
* Conduct performance reviews and provide performance feedback, where applicable identify appropriate corrective measures to address performance gaps.
He or she must have:
* An Accounting designation i.e. ACCA, CA, CGA, CPA etc.
* An Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Accounting or any other business-related subject would be an asset.
* Approximately 6 years of experience working as an external auditor for a public accounting firm with at least 4 years' experience in the supervisory or managerial capacity.
* Relevant business/industry experience would be an asset.
* Excellent project management skills.
* Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with conducting oral presentations.
* A dedication to teamwork and leadership.
