Morgan Stanley is seeking a finance professional to work in the ISG Finance Organization as part of the Project Management team.

Department Profile

The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firms books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Primary Responsibilities

The Project organization works closely with Business Unit Controller teams across the globe, as well as with various partner teams across Finance, Operations, Institutional Equity Division (IED) & Fixed Income Division (FID) Business Units, and Technology on delivering strategic 'Change the Bank' initiatives. The team is also responsible for prioritizing issues and turning requirements into action points on a multitude of 'Run the Bank' processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • You are able to partner with various groups in driving forward projects to enhance controls, reduce risk, comply with regulatory requirements, improve efficiency, and generate earnings for the Firm.
  • You will participate in global work streams responsible for business requirements documentation including preparation, presentation and senior stakeholder signoff.
  • Participate in project management, setting and monitoring of milestones and project resource budgeting.
  • You are able to lead and manage workflows related to implementation of new processes, data streams or reporting systems by providing support for both functional and non-functional testing, preparing presentations and conducting training sessions to highlight key changes / deliverables to global users.
  • You are able to act as a strong intermediary and build effective relationships between Finance, Business Managers, SME's, IT and other Stakeholders globally as the custodian of change within Finance.

  • An interest or familiarity with Financial Markets and Products

  • You are proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • You are able to analyze information and present it back within an agreed timeline
  • You are a strong written and verbal communicator, and able to adapt to your audience
