Senior Financial Accountant - Group Statutory & Regulatory Reporting

• 6 Months contract - With an opportunity to extend for the right candidate.
• Group statutory reporting role working alongside senior business unit managers across the business.
• Candidates must have both Statutory & Regulatory Reporting experience

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity to join the group finance function of a large ASX listed Financial Services organisation. The role works closely with a variety of stakeholders across the business, including business unit Financial Controllers and Senior Managers. You will play a pivotal role in delivering the Group's Statutory Financial Statements, ASX Profit Announcements and related Statutory & Regulatory returns (annual and half year).

Reporting to the Senior Manager for Group Statutory & Financial Reporting key duties will include;

• Prepare / Review of Inputs to Externally reported documents (Statutory Financial Reports, ASX Profit Announcements, international returns/ international profit announcements etc),
• Review information from key business Units and identify errors and omissions and assist with their resolution.
• Regulatory Reporting (including regulatory returns)
• Facilitate workshops and training of various finance teams and provide training to team members in understanding operational requirements of role
• Identification and timely resolution of issues arising on a monthly basis. Identify key trends and seek explanation for key movements in balances and transactions
• Identify and implement continuous improvement to existing reporting process.
• Participate in projects and adhoc analysis as required.
• Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with peers across Finance, Group finance and external auditors.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA with minimum 1-2 years post qualification experience
• Statutory Reporting and Regulatory Reporting experience is essential.
• Previous experience within a Group reporting role is highly desired.
• Financial Services experience is not essential.
• Excellent communication skills are essential as well as experience working with senior level stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and has the ability to take responsibility for deliverables and work to very tight deadlines.
• Great attention to detail and excellent numeric and analytical skills.
