Senior Financial Accountant, Big 4 First Time Mover (12 Mth FTC)

The Role:

A very exciting opportunity has been made available for a Big 4 First Time mover at an Assistant Manager or Manager level, or a Big 4 Senior Accountant with Commercial experience to join a renowned ASX listed Financial Services business with significant dominance in the Banking landscape. The is an exciting role at a Sydney CBD location, that has exposure to senior management and strong stakeholder management both internally & externally.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Advisory and Analysis team and be responsible for providing technical accounting advice to support the business in initiatives such as M&A transactions, capitalisation of projects and the management of relations with auditors in the preparation of financial reporting obligations.

Responsibilities:

• Serving as the SME to address & implement accounting and reporting requirements under AASB & IFRS associated with new accounting pronouncement
• Preparing consolidated and entity statutory reports and regulatory returns based on the general ledger and non0ledger data sourced from other teams and providers
• Ensuring that the business meets its statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
• Providing accounting advice to the business, developing accounting policies & setting accounting policy
• Performing technical analysis & drafting accounting advice memo on potential M&A transactions and other matters on an ad-hoc basis as they arise
• Assisting in the preparation of sections of the businesses financial report with a focus on highly technical elements
• Providing analysis of results and balance sheet to senior management and boards
• Liaising with external auditors on the preparation of documentation, commentary, analysis and explanatory notes

Key Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and CA/CPA Qualified
• Big 4 Audit First Time mover at a Assistant Manager or Manager level OR a Senior Accountant within Big 4 having moved into a commercial/FS business
• 4+ years in statutory reporting, audit or accounting advice role within Financial Services
• Strong stakeholder management & ability to collaborate and work strongly in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic with the ability to priorities tasks and meet important deadlines

Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000 Package
