  • Develops plans, systems and internal processes as required to govern all aspects of the payroll accounts in accordance with the established URC policies

  • Follows up on policies and procedures and ensuring that they remain applicable and competitive with that of similar institutions

  • Monitors assigned payroll activities to ensure effective functioning, coordinating activities and ensuring compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements

  • Reviews data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. time sheets/payroll, salary adjustments, etc.) for the purpose of analysing issues, ensuring compliance with mandated requirements, and/or monitoring program components

  • Verifies a variety of payroll related information (e.g. time sheets, direct deposits, wage attachments, benefits, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accurate distribution of funds and payroll

  • Reviews, approves and signs where necessary payment requests, reimbursements, employment letters for banks/other financial institutions; ensuring that only authorized payments and bank letters are prepared and signed

  • Ensures appropriate accountability and compliance with the approved budget

  • Provides regular feedback to the Accounting Manager on payroll issues and assisting him in planning any new initiatives for improvement in Accounts

  • Provides statistical analysis of payroll data as needed from a variety of sources

  • Reviews payroll adjustments and transaction details

  • Coordinates efforts between Finance, Human Resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. leave balances, head count, and retirement contribution reports)

  • Oversees and assists in the development and enhancement of team procedure manual and processes

  • Maintaining collaborative and effective relationships with other key management personnel and keeping abreast of significant economic, social and technical trends, and regulatory guidelines, which may influence assigned payroll services and/or the facility

  • Actively participates in assigned Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and ensures timely dissemination of information to CFT
