Accountant (Part-Qualified, Qualified or QBE)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Change Public Practice are working with an Independent Chartered Accountant firm in Glasgow City Centre to assist them in the recruitment of an Accountant. This role will suit someone who has a strong general practice background and candidates who are part-qualified, recently qualified and qualified-by-experience will all be considered.

Due to retirement and succession planning of this business, this client is looking for an experienced Accountant with a predominant focus on general practice accountancy and tax work. This role will involve preparation and review of work prior to Partner review. Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of statutory annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparation and review of corporate and personal tax returns and submitting to HMRC
• Producing management accounts and VAT returns
• Review of work prepared by junior members of staff and providing feedback and making amendments when required
• Training and mentoring junior members of staff when required
• Liaising closely with clients and senior staff within the firm
• Build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally

Requirements:

• Must be able to prepare accounts and take through to completion
• Applications are well come from those who are part-qualified, newly qualified (ACCA or equivalent) or Qualified-by-Experience (QBE)
• You will have a minimum of 2 years' accounts preparation experience gained from a similar sized Chartered Accountancy firm i.e. Mid-tier CA / Independent CA firm
• Strong communication and relationships building skills is highly desirable
