Assistant Accountant, Edinburgh, £14-15 per hour

Hays Accountancy and Finance is partnered with a not-for-profit organisation based in Central Edinburgh. Our client is looking for a professional and ambitious Assistant Accountant on a temporary basis, with the potential for extension.
Your new role
Reporting to the to the Financial Accountant you will be assisting in areas such as Year End Accounts, Quarterly Vat, Balance Sheet Review, Writing up Processes, Journals, Accruals, Reconciliations, Systems Work, Payroll, Debtors and helping train staff where required and some supervision

Your new role

What you'll need to succeed
- Good to High Excel skills
- Experience of journal postings, preparing accruals/prepayments, account reconciliations etc
- Exposure to VAT
- Ideally experience of supervising staff or have the 'character' to do so
- Ability to be working towards more than one deadline at a time
- Flexible. Willing to put everything aside to focus on a specific urgent task etc
- Team player willing to help and educate others
