We are offering a unique opportunity for a senior share plans professional to join our Incentives & Reward team in a varied and challenging role. You will support companies at every stage of the corporate lifecycle with all aspects of designing, implementing and operating share and cash incentive arrangements in the UK and overseas, including supporting clients in meeting their tax, legal, regulatory and compliance obligations. We are a true advisory practice, and aim to work in partnership with our clients to deliver high quality, high impact advice.

We encourage consideration of flexible ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients. If this opportunity is of interest to you with some flexibility, please do discuss with us.

Are you looking to return to the workplace after an extended career break? For this role we can offer coaching and support designed for returners to refresh your knowledge and skills, and help your transition back into the workplace after a career break of 2 years or more. If this is relevant for you, just let your recruiter know when you make your application.

Your role
Our team supports a broad client portfolio across a range of industries, from start-up and fast-growing businesses through to very large global corporations - both private and listed companies.

The role of Associate Director offers a wide variety of work, enabling you to gain and maintain real breadth and depth to your skills. Our Associate Directors take the lead on delivering our engagements and managing relationships with clients.

You will be expected to proactively identify and implement appropriate and innovative solutions for your clients and will have the opportunity to engage with various teams across the firm and pursue new business development opportunities by using your networks and market knowledge.

Responsibilities include:
  • Ownership of day-to-day relationships with clients, who will call on your deep incentives technical expertise and commerciality to help them design, implement and operate a wide range of incentive arrangements in the UK and globally;
  • Advising on the incentives aspects of corporate transactions (including specialist tax structuring advice and managing due diligence reviews);
  • Leading global tax, legal and regulatory reviews of existing and proposed incentive arrangements;
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in, and an interest in focusing on, advising private companies on designing bespoke arrangements (including growth shares) and the impact of transactions on such arrangements;
  • Playing a key role in identifying and pursuing business growth opportunities on clients and targets (both in relation to Incentives & Reward and wider Tax/Deloitte services), teaming with peers to maximise these opportunities;
  • Playing an active role in the development of junior members of the team;
  • Having a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing and working within diverse teams and strategies to address them, plus a clear understanding to the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive team culture; and
  • Focusing on your personal and technical development. We take development very seriously and you'll benefit from continuous training, coaching and mentoring, as well as a transparent, interactive performance review process which together are designed to help you reach your full potential. You'll be empowered to manage your own workload and achieve career goals that you set yourself.

Your work, your choice
At Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. We carefully consider agile ways of working, both formal and informal, that allow for the best impact for our people and our clients. Please speak to your recruiter about the working pattern that works best for you.

Location: Bristol or Cardiff with occasional domestic and international travel
Suggested work pattern: Permanent full-time. Our team members work a variety of agile working patterns. Tell us what arrangement works for you and we'll try to accommodate.

  • Highly numerate with keen attention to detail;
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to produce high quality, client facing, technically accurate, well written work;

  • Team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels and make an impact within our local, national and international networks;
