Client Details

Their hardworking ethos is prevalent throughout the entire company and they are looking for a new ambitious and focused Accounts Assistant to join their close-knit team.

Description

The key responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant include:

  • Sales Ledger functions
    - Inputting invoices onto the system
    - Ensuring prices charged for services are correct
    - Raising invoices
    - Dispatching monthly supplier statements
    - Raising and dispatching credit notes
    - Liaising with Credit Control and taking on Credit Control duties where necessary
  • Payroll duties where necessary
  • Maintenance of the cash book
  • Maintenance of the petty cash account
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Maintaining the nominal ledger when necessary (Sales and Purchase Ledger)
  • Journal entries
  • Quarterly VAT returns

Profile

The successful candidate for the Luton-based Accounts Assistant will:

  • Have at least a year's experience in a similar Finance or Accounts role
  • Be highly numerate
  • Have an excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Be able to work to deadlines
  • Have a positive can-do attitude with the ability to problem solve
  • Be a great team-player as well as being able to work independently.
