Assistant Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their medium sized Finance team based on the outskirts of Oxford, with parking on site.

Description

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

• The cash books, including cashflow forecasting
• Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Monthly accruals, prepayments and posting journals
• Intercompany accounting
• Credit card transactions
• Bank reconciliations
• Assisting with Accounts Payable when required and assisting with the sales invoicing
• Dealing with escalated Accounts Payable issues
• Responsibility for project costing when required
• Responsibility for employee timesheet completion and dealing with all timesheet queries from employees
• Providing expense analysis to the Financial Controller
• Assisting with the year end audit queries

Profile

The successful Assistant Accountant candidate will have proven experience in a similar role and be looking to join a well established Finance team and be part of that team for a long time to come!

The individual must be hardworking with a professional work ethic, alongside previous experience dealing with cashbooks, month end journals and a solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping.

An AAT studier or AAT qualified would be ideal but not essential, experience is more important.

Job Offer

The salary on offer is between £27,000 and £30,000 with a generous benefits package including a study package.
