About the Team

Our Financial Accounting team is responsible for the compilation of the management accounts and statutory reporting for the trading business, coordinating the forecasting and budgeting processes and upholding the integrity and accuracy of our general ledger and reporting solutions.

As the Group Financial Planning and Reporting Manager you will report into the Group Financial Controller. This role is crucial to not only the Financial Accounting Team but also to the wider department where you will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a wide range of internal finance stakeholders, including substantial exposure to senior finance management.

About the Role

You will:

  • Coordinate and control the month-end process including updating the Group’s central profit forecast and the month-end review meeting
  • Responsibility for all management account and KPI reporting of the business
  • Ensure integrity of the balance sheet including rotational reviews of balance sheet reconciliations across the entire business
  • Coordinate and control the seasonal budget cycle, including production of budget packs for senior management & the Board
  • Be a main point of call for technical accounting matters, including interpretation of standards, review of any new technical developments and being a key liaison for the external auditors
  • Summarise and review financial performance of the business, including management account commentaries, operating margins and ad-hoc analysis as required by senior management
  • Work with wider Group Finance team to deliver the half year and full year results to the market, including drafting and proof reading the published accounts

Criteria

About You

  • ACCA/ ACA Qualified with previous experience working within financial reporting, internal audit or a practice environment
  • Experience of preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, group reporting packs and balance sheet reconciliations within a fast paced and ideally multi-territory business
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organised and able to work to and manage deadlines across teams successfully
  • Strong coaching and management skills would be advantageous due to the role managing two direct management accountant reports
  • Have the confidence and communication skills to work with internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Previous retail experience would be advantageous
