Based in our Sydney or Canberra office we are looking for a dedicated and professional Policy Advisor to join our Superannuation Policy Team.

As a Policy Advisor you will be responsible for developing policy options and making recommendations across the full range of Superannuation prudential policy, including the content of prudential standards and prudential practice guides.

You will work across the Super sector through consulting both internally, and externally with other government agencies and industry groups.

  • Identify opportunities for new projects and make recommendations to the Senior Manager, Policy Development on policy initiatives.
  • Manage projects effectively and efficiently ensuring on time delivery of outcomes.
  • Prepare briefing papers and submissions to ensure timely and accurate responses to policy issues raised by stakeholders and other agencies.
  • Respond to requests for advice and/or interpretation of existing policy, practice and procedure.
  • Liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders within APRA and from the government and financial sectors, on policy issues to ensure that policy development is reflective of current market developments and stakeholder needs.

The successful candidate will have:
  • strong tertiary qualification;
  • in-depth knowledge of, and practical experience in, the super industry, government or the wider financial services sector;

  • Highly developed organisational and priority management skills and provide ability to work autonomously.

The successful applicant must also be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen and complete background and security clearances. We are ideally looking for someone with a background in Superannuation and policy development, however a strong policy background in the area of broader financial services will also be considered.
