OVERVIEW:
KPMG in Jamaica provides office extension support services in the Jamaica Extended Support Services Operations (JESS) to KPMG in the US, and is seeking to hire a suitably qualified, competent, highly motivated, Senior Officer, for the Time & Expense (T&E) Investigations team. The office extension shared service is based in Kingston, and the team members execute their duties using online resources and tools to support KPMG US's back-office operations.
JOB SUMMARY:
The JESS T&E Investigations Senior Officer is vital role responsible for performing various tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures within the Clients' T&E Investigations process area. This position applies knowledge, independent judgment and firm policies to research claims and analyse the overall fact pattern of such claims, as well as to build a "case" with supporting evidence. The T&E Investigations Senior Officer performs work of a technical or analytical nature, requiring specialized skills, training and related experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performs intense reviews of employee reimbursements.
* Reviews and researches time and expense claims of an individual to determine an overall spend pattern
* Analyzes and addresses issues by evaluating different alternatives within a wide variety of established procedures; decisions are subject to review by higher levels of management both onshore and offshore
* Prepares special complex reports of findings and provides recommendations
* Oversees effort to meet deadlines
* Communicates with Client's stakeholders onshore and offshore regarding policies and procedures
* Works with all levels of the team to update policy and procedure documents
* Advises other team members of the policy and procedural changes
QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES
Education/Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college or university
* Between 2-3 years of experience in accounting or auditing
* T&E claims auditing experience a plus, but not mandatory
* Detail oriented, analytical and critical thinking skills, research skills, ability to "think outside the box." Technical
* Advanced knowledge and use of office productivity tools especially Excel Spreadsheets
* SAP and Concur experience a plus. Interpersonal
* Honest and ethical with high levels of integrity and confidentiality
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Possessing a level of inquisitiveness
* Ability to generate team cooperation.
* Ability to be flexible with job duties and scope of work.
