Group Management Accountant

Group Management Accountant position (scope to progress to FC) with an established, successful and ever-changing financial services firm, located in Chester.

This role straddles both financial control and commercial business partnering to maximise wider business exposure, and allow the successful candidate to rapidly progress into a Financial Controller capacity.

Reporting directly to a successful mentor in the form of an ACA Qualified Finance Director, you will be provided with all of the tools to carve out an accomplished career with an industry leader.

Role

• Full responsibility over month end & year end accountancy and processes;
• Business partnering senior management throughout. Acting as a key point of contact for finance where required - Likely attending senior management meetings;
• Taking the lead on finance and wider business projects, with heavy input on process, system and control improvements throughout;
• Interpreting & manipulating large volumes of data. Using this information to influence business critical decision making;
• Acting as a 'number 2' within the department, closely assisting the Finance Director in maintaining integrity of the finance department;
• Ownership of the Management Accounting function, preparing management information for senior stakeholders use;
• Involvement in Group consolidation process;
• Financial reporting at a top level - regular interaction with Heads of departments and board-level individuals;
• Management of the ledgers and wider finance team (7 direct/indirect reports, consisting of part-qualified and transactional finance staff);
• Deputising for Finance Director where required.
