We are currently seeking applications for an Operational Finance Manager within Social Security Scotland based in Caledonian House Dundee. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. The Social Security Scotland is recruiting for a Finance Manager to help shape the development of the Operational Finance team which is responsible for the operational delivery service for the Agency.

This role offers the chance to work in a diverse workforce, reflective of Scottish society. Staff use flexible working and part-time or term-time work can be also be offered. The post holder will have minimum 5 weeks annual leave in addition to all public and privilege holidays. Qualifications Required
Professionally qualified accountant (or exam qualified) – CCAB professional accountancy body or equivalent with up to date CPD

Essential Criteria
1. Strong analytical skills, ability to review system issues, diagnose root cause, impact and propose and offer advice on solutions along with the ability to critically evaluate business processes and propose alternative solutions.
2. Strong Risk & Controls mind set, experience of defining and implementing financial controls to safeguard Finance interests.
3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to articulate financial requirements effectively to non-financial stakeholders as well as writing guidance and procedural documentation for Operational team use.
4. Well organised, delivery focussed and able to work on own initiative.
