SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
An established distribution company since 2003 is seeking a knowledgeable and professional senior accountant. The ideal candidate is in-charge of all the daily financial and management accounting activities inclusive of preparing financial and performance reports, assisting with annual budgets, forecasting and reviews with the Standards and Levels required by the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, International Financial Reporting Standards and IAS.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Providing detailed financial analysis to influence key decision-making factors of the organization
* Preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly and annual returns and financial reports
* Lead and oversee monthly and annual stock counts
* Conduct research, compile and present reports as required
* Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
* Timely and accurate financial reporting - reports include Income Statements, Balance sheets, Cashflows, Funding's, Forecast and operating and Financial Metrics.
* Advise on the improvement of financial management system, internal controls/processes to improve business efficiency
* Manage compliance with company policies and procedures
* Preparation of financial reports for auditing
* Reconciliation of all bank accounts monthly
* General Ledger maintenance
* Payroll Management
* Accounts payables and receivables
* Provide management with detailed business performance information and financial reports
* Prepare and file statutory and GCT Returns
* Liase with bankers, government agencies and external auditors
QUALIFICATIONS
* Tertiary degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or equivalent.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior accounting position.
* ACCA 3 / CPA professional certification
* Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and accounting principles
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills
* Must be a mastery in QuickBooks software and Microsoft Suite
* Excellent time management, customer service skills and analytical skills.
* Strong negotiation and persuasive skills.
* Ability to apply critical thinking and creativity.
* Ability to improve on and maintain systems based on quality standards.
* Detail-oriented, attentive to accuracy, and timeliness
* Ability to work independently on multiple assignments as well as a team player
This position is a 6 month contract - renewable, Full-time position
