Do Work That Matters:

Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group's relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising and risk management products and services.

The Non-Financial Risk and Conduct (NFR&C) function is responsible for developing the non-financial risk strategy and supporting the business to proactively reduce risk exposure in the business in the context of IB&M‘s risk appetite. The Non-Financial Risk and Conduct team is the central conduit between the business, Line 2 and regulators.

The Regulatory Reform team, within NFR&C, is accountable for managing global regulatory change initiatives to ensure IB&M meets its regulatory compliance objectives as well as address strategic business considerations.

We do this by:

  • Assessing the regulatory risk and business impact of changes due to new (or changes in) regulations and obligations across the jurisdictions in which IB&M operates.
  • Managing the implementation of the appropriate changes in our people, systems and processes to meet regulatory change requirements across the jurisdictions in which IB&M operates.
  • Risk Management Excellence – ensuring consistent and effective deployment throughout Line 1 of non-financial risk management practices in line with Group-wide standards.
  • Oversee ongoing adherence to G20 regulatory reform rules (trade reporting, clearing, margining, risk mitigation, business conduct and related rules).
  • Co-ordinating and managing Line 1 led regulatory engagements.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

You will support the Regulatory Reform team in assessing the regulatory risk and business impact of changes relevant to IB&M and meeting our G20 compliance obligations.

Specifically you will:

  • Participate in Regulatory Reform team planning and development activities.
  • Undertake analysis and document the regulatory and strategic and tactical business impacts for identified regulatory changes and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide analysis and support for regulatory advocacy activities including regulatory consultations, relief requests and breach notifications.
  • Provide analysis and support for responses to business issues and regulatory reporting inquiries.
  • Provide analysis for regulatory and business queries on compliance with G20 obligations
  • Maintain risks, issues, incidents and controls in Risk InSite, the CBA”s risk management system.

We’re Interested in Hearing From People Who Have:

  • Experience working within a major financial institution, audit firm or other major company.
  • Understanding of the financial markets and institutional banking industry.
  • Appreciation of the regulatory reform landscape and drivers in the banking industry.
  • Appreciation of operational risk and risk management approaches.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills.
  • Strong data analytical capabilities including the ability to define and build queries and analyze output.
