A Finance Assistant role for a football club in London. This role is responsible for maintaining the accounts payable and receivable ledgers.

My client is a football club based in London.
Description
The key responsibilities of this Finance Assistant position include:
- Maintain, prepare and post customer invoices and credit/debit memos ensuring careful accuracy and precision.
- Reconcile payments received with issued invoices, bank and general ledger.
- Ensure all account balances are paid and debts are resolved in a timely manner by contacting delinquent customers via phone and email to secure payment.
- Monthly accounts receivable control account reconciliation.
- Preparation of monthly bad debt provision for review by the Management Accountant.
- Manage the daily cash reporting process ensuring that all bank accounts are reported in an accurate and timely manner and that reconciling items are followed up and resolved.
- Reconcile the daily cash, card and cheque takings and banking's for the business.
- Validate all supplier invoices for appropriate documentation, coding and approval prior to payment.
- Manage supplier invoices in accordance with company payment terms and invoice due dates.
- Input and upload supplier payment batches and management of fortnightly payment runs.
- Monthly supplier statement reconciliations for the largest supplier accounts.
- Monthly accounts payable control account reconciliation.
- Assisting the management accountant with month-end and year-end processes, including provision of information to auditors.
Profile
The successful candidate will display the following:
- Experience using of working in a finance department is essential
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with an accounting system, Sage 50 would be advantageous
- Trustworthy, conscientious and reliable individual
- Ability to work on deadlines and manage your own workload
- Desire to pursue an accounting qualification
