Internal Auditor

Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting for an Internal Auditor to join a large organisation in Birmingham

Location - Birmingham

Role - Internal Auditor

Salary - £35,000 - £45,000

Responsibilities:

• Controls and Compliance Analyst
• Process Owner - Observe legislation and external standards and ensure in line with company policy and practice
• Process Review on Risk and Controls
• Advisor to SMT
• Question Risk and Appetite to Risk throughout the business
• Check Processes/ Validate Processes / Evidence Processes
• IT Controls
• Identifying key compliance weaknesses and proposals to implement improvements
• Work closely with Operations to investigate processes and suggest improvements

Skills Required:
Qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA / IIA / CIA /CIPFA / CFE)

Qualified by experience if you have 5+ years in Internal Audit

Previous Internal Audit of Risk and Compliance experience - Ideally Big 4 or PLC Auditor

An inquisitive mind and ability to think creatively to identify new potential risks and fraud exposure

Strong communication skills
Experience of partnering with non-finance stakeholders

Experience and/or knowledge of regulatory or operational controls, or wider internal control frameworks

Ability to understand and critically assess and map business processes and controls

Strong technical accounting or auditing skills
