Senior Financial Accountant, Financial Services

The Role:

A very exciting opportunity has been made available for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant with a strong Financial Services background to join one of Australia's renowned Financial Services Businesses based in the CBD.

The successful candidate will focus on delivering the consolidated monthly, quarterly, yearly financial reporting whilst being the 'go to' person for all accounting and finance related enquiries including the implementation of new accounting standards.

Additionally, you will be supporting the Group finance team to ensure the Groups finance policies, processes and systems are maintained at the highest level of integrity. At present, we are seeking expressions of interest to join our candidate and contractor talent pool in order to be considered for any future roles (subject to client instructions and/or approval).

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consistently high quality, accurate and timely quarterly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting for the consolidated Group, including preparation of the Group consolidation, taxation, cash flows and elimination entries, as well as review of segment/division results, providing useful insight and analysis to the business and finance teams
  • Preparation and review of statutory interim and annual reporting, including all requirements for the Group (and subsidiaries) and associated reporting and analysis for investor relations (Black book, investor presentation material, Q&A analysis)
  • Responsible for the Groups management and Regulatory Reporting requirements
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to meet the needs of the business and external reporting requirements
  • Understand the requirements of any new accounting standards and be able to articulate the practical implications of the change
  • Manage the implementation of new processes and procedures to adapt to these changes
  • Manage and support the team to build a team of staff that work cohesively in a high performance environment, whilst guiding the team in their career development

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and CA/CPA Qualified
  • 5 + years' experience within Financial Services business
  • Strong stakeholder management & ability to collaborate and work strongly in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic with the ability to priorities tasks and meet important deadlines
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting and implementing accounting standards preferred

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 + Superannuation
