The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is responsible for promoting transparency and integrity in business. We are the UK Competent Authority for audit and set the UK Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes as well as UK standards for accounting, auditing and actuarial work. We monitor and take action to promote the quality of corporate reporting and operate independent enforcement arrangements for accountants and actuaries. 

The team:

Corporate Reporting Review is part of the Corporate Governance and Reporting division and monitors financial information provided by companies for compliance with relevant accounting requirements and enquiries into apparent departures through correspondence and face-to-face meetings with company Chairmen, directors and senior officers. The team considers reviews of reports and accounts and recommend an appropriate regulatory response. 

The Role:

Working under the supervision of CRR staff, the role of Associate Case Officers includes:

  • Reviewing and analysing company reports and accounts.
  • Supporting thematic review work.
  • Conducting ad-hoc project and research work.

The Person:

Candidates must be fully qualified accountants of ICAEW, ACA, ICAS or CAI (or equivalent) and have post qualification experience of applying IFRS in a major accounting firm or in industry. The ideal candidates will have:

  • Keen interest in further developing their technical competency.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good research and analytic skills.

The role is based in our Central London Office. The post holder should be able to work flexibly to support the team’s activities and also provide cover within the FRC as necessary.  Part Time & Flexible Working Available.
