Job Description

Position Summary

Client Product and Profitability (CPP) Operations is a team within FM&A Finance and is responsible for establishing and maintaining the “CPP Utility” which includes a data warehouse and reporting facility that generates monthly client and product revenue and profitability analytics through the use of an activity-based cost model or “the model”. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for the collection, input quality and scheduling of all required data and create an integrated data layer for the enterprise wide profitability model. S/he will be responsible to source data from the individual CPP LOB models and integrate it for final output to user dashboards. This role interfaces and coordinates with the rest of the CPP operations team, the Shared Services technology group, and the different data owners. The role also performs Data quality checks and strategies on how to gather and use the data effectively.

Business Expertise

The Senior Data Analyst must have an in-depth understanding of the various tools utilized in CPP, especially Oracle, Informatica, and SQL Developer. S/he must develop an in-depth understanding of how CPP data relates to each other for the underlying areas for revenue, expense and volumes. S/he must understand how the information CPP produces is derived or sourced; and the drivers that can impact or cause the data to change. The Data Analyst must have advanced technical and analytical skills to carry out her/his work in supporting CPP users. S/he must be capable of independently performing complex data analysis to ensure existing data is accurate as well as to help develop new data sources as needed and provide guidance and thought leadership to fellow team members. S/he must possess strong organizational skills to manage the prioritization of her/his workload and support the ability of the team to meet their overall commitments. The Senior Data Analyst must execute her/his work in a timely, effective, and “fit for business purpose” manner, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Degree in math, engineering, statistics, computational finance or economics preferred.
  • Work toward or completion of MBA, CFA, or CPA/CA preferred.
  • Five to seven years of total work experience preferred.
