Job profile summary:

The Financial Analyst for Fuels North America BP Direct role is a part of the growing Marketing and Sales business and is responsible for enabling effective performance management and supporting delivery of Sales' strategic objectives. Through close partnership with the Head of Sales and the extended Sales leadership team this role develops the region's strategy and financial objectives. The role develops and presents key performance management insights. This includes rigorous review and challenge of financials, preparing detailed and insightful financial analysis and business narratives in support of Sales growth initiatives. This role will report to the Finance Manager for Marketing and Sales.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review the BP Direct Business (NY/NJ) transactions and ensure they have been recorded properly and deliver actual vs forecast variance analysis with trends and competitor insights.
  • Provide detailed Direct Fixed Cash Cost Analysis and Forecast and possess an understanding of the business drivers of spend and trends including but not limited to BP Site spend and maintenance.
  • Support the delivery of a Site Level P&L for the BP Direct business
  • Create site p&l to be used by the Direct business. Utilize automation tools for better utilization.
  • Monitor standard margins and volumes for the BP Direct business ensuring they are recorded properly
  • Report capex and revex spend related to the BP Direct business
  • Provide pricing support for the BP Direct business by taking the insights from the pricing team and matching those insights to the market insights gained from the Sales team
  • Perform price/volume elasticity calculations
  • Perform detailed LFL analysis looking for construction, weather, marketing, market, competitive and other impacts
  • Provide analysis on outliers of the business performance directing Sales individuals in the market on where to spend further time reviewing
  • Provide analysis on site/pump downtime and rent waivers
  • CMSI/Strasburger analysis and support
  • Monthly inventory reconciliation by site for CO sites allowing for better detection of potential leaks, theft, etc

  • Essential Education
  • Finance/Accounting preferred

  • Essential Experience and Job Requirements
  • 5–8 years of Finance experience
  • Advanced excel skills – very important
  • Big data experience, Power BI, Tableau, etc

  • Desirable Criteria
  • Retail/Marketing/Oil experience a plus
