In the Open Banking Lab we're on a mission to demystify money and help people to handle their finances more effectively using emerging technology and innovation. As Business Analyst (working in a Lab of c80 people, reporting to the Lab Product Owner) you will be pivotal to shaping innovative, new-to-market customer propositions from strategy, design and delivery through to product launch and continual optimisation of the live service.

A key part of the role will be defining how customer data combined with emerging technology and the evolving regulatory environment can be utilised to drive customer value. A passionate customer advocate with a good eye for detail and an interest in technology innovation would be ideal.

Agile delivery experience is highly desirable. You will be experienced in writing user stories to a robust set of acceptance criteria and work alongside the Product Owner to ensure rational prioritisation of the backlog is in place to drive efficient sprint cadence. The role will suit a highly collaborative team-player who enjoys variety of work and is keen to build skills and experience working across a breadth of propositions.

What we'll need from you:

Applications are encouraged from candidates with a strong background in business analysis, solution design, new product development or consultancy with a track record of translating customer vision into successful digital propositions.

You'll have a good understanding of business analysis and business architecture methodologies with some knowledge in related disciplines such as Software Development, Systems Thinking, User Experience Design and Data Modelling. You'll also be a be an Agile Practitioner, comfortable operating within scrum and kanban digital delivery practices.

Additionally you'll:

  • Enjoy problem solving and take an analytical approach to proposition development, ensuring the trade-offs between customer value, solution complexity and risk are understood by stakeholders.
  • Be a motivated self-starter and enthusiastic team-player with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to operate with credibility amongst business, technical and design colleagues.
  • Understand complex Financial Services products within the scope of an emerging regulatory framework, ideally with some familiarity of PSD2 and Open Banking.
