Ohio Truck Sales, a fast growing truck sales company located in Sandusky, Ohio is seeking a Controller as a key member of our leadership team to undertake all aspects of its financial management. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll management, forecasting, accounts payable & receivable management and financial reporting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Supervises the accounting procedures of the company Assists in preparing annual budget for approval, including those for funding and implementation of new programs. Prepares month and year end financial statements; including bank reconciliation for each center and answers questions regarding entries to produce accurate tax returns. Gathers data of past company performance to produce reports regarding historical data usage and future planning. Ensures invoices and cash receipts entered are posted to the proper accounts in order to reflect and accurate picture of how business is performing. Develops policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance of financial responsibilities to the company. Coaches General Managers on importance of the need to check invoices for errors and ensure carefully input of information. Audits the work of the accounting team and provides feedback accordingly. Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments. Secures financial information by completing data base backups and internal accounting controls. Manages hiring, training and development of Accounting Associates. Attends biweekly meetings with owners to reviewing payables to ensure accuracy of each cents bill pay Accounts for all intercompany financial transfers and transactions. Prepares reports and ensures payment of monthly, quarterly and yearly taxes for local, state and federal agencies. Performs all other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience : Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, preferred; 2–5 years experience minimum as a Controller or Accounting Manager in a small to mid–sized firm. Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or board of directors. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc. Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. • Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. This role requires an above–average knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office. Work Quality– Work quality refers to the effort that consistently achieves desired outcomes with a minimum of avoidable errors and problems.
