Summary

As a result of the continued growth of the Group, the business requires a Tax Accountant to join the Group Finance team. Working alongside the Head of Financial Strategy, the candidate will have responsibility for tax compliance, reporting and tax risk issues affecting the business.

The role will encompass management of the tax compliance cycle UK tax compliance, including assisting with the move to MTD. Additionally this role will support the company audit and act as a technical support to the wider business.

This role will provide the successful candidate with opportunities to gain broad experience within the finance function of a developing business, particularly in helping to develop the ongoing tax strategy of a listed business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities.....
  • Working with external advisers on the preparation of UK corporation tax returns;
  • Calculation of UK corporation tax payments;
  • Assisting with the collation of information, analysing and reporting the company's ETR, cash taxes and tax disclosures for the PLC and individual statutory accounts;
  • Calculation of monthly tax charge and year-end tax postings;
  • Preparation of VAT returns for the group;
  • Administration and reporting for company share schemes;
  • Assisting with preparation of P11D's and PAYE Settlement Agreements for the group;
  • Corresponding and liaising with HMRC to resolve queries;
  • Ad-hoc duties and assistance with projects as required

Experience and Skills Required.......
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) and/or Tax Adviser (CTA);
  • Good system skills including intermediate excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to identify issues and use initiative to solve problems.
  • Self-motivated team player with willingness to help others and go above and beyond their formal role.
  • Exercise the upmost discretion when dealing with confidential matters
