Job Description
The Role:
- Involvement in full life-cycle of transfer pricing management: transfer pricing setting, monitoring and testing, year-end transfer pricing adjustments, and coordination of transfer pricing documentation
- Determination and highlighting of any shortcomings within our transfer pricing network and proposes fixes, including liaison with distribution countries and supplying sites for necessary changes
- Monitoring of list price or standard costs changes, and flag the transfer pricing implications
- Supporting in analysis of any transfer pricing change requests and supply chain restructuring projects
- Always exercising care and considerations for customs implications arising from any proposed transfer pricing changes
- Assisting with implementation of control framework / awareness drive at both distribution countries and supplying / factory sites, working with transfer pricing counterparts in other parts of the world as needed
- Working with respective country accounting teams to segment and analyze financial data as required to determine the transfer pricing and customs positions
- Further segmentation of divisional P&L by factories and SKU level GPM for customs analysis for key countries
- Supporting any transfer pricing and customs audits across the region as needed
- Coordination with accounting teams in various countries and external consultants for purpose of any benchmarking, transfer pricing documentations, masterfiles, local files and CBCR purposes
Requirements:
- A university degree and/or post-graduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, or law
- Candidate should have at least 3 years of transfer pricing experience in a big 4 audit firm, preferably at Senior Associate / Senior Consultant level
- Strong Transfer pricing fundamentals/conceptual grasp, including being able to demonstrate understanding of the relationship between functions, assets and risks and return
- Ability to explain the difference between price setting vs price testing
- Ability to explain the pros and cons of different transfer pricing policies (e.g. cost plus vs resale-minus etc.)
- conduct critical review of transfer pricing reports and benchmarking and thereafter assess impact and make recommendations on transfer pricing setting
- demonstrate knowledge of the differences between Masterfile, Local file, and CbCR
- Knowledge of customs matters is a plus
- Ability to translate complex supply chain information into transactional flows and useful financial data, which is critical for transfer pricing and customs analysis
- Able to work independently and demonstrate resourcefulness under limited supervision
- Result-oriented and not be easily lost in details; Ability to see big picture context
- Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to break down complex issues into smaller components and then addressing each with clear basis, and be able to articulate the outputs to stakeholders; able to exercise critical judgment calls
- Possess a project management mindset to see to timely completion of tasks by deadlines agreed with stakeholders; Able to prioritize time-critical tasks accordingly
