Key Accountabilities

Key Duties

Develop and implement Clinical Audit plans across PHCC

Develop effective systems and processes for clinical audit at the Clinical Affairs Directorate in conjunction with the Clinical Effectiveness Manager.
Ensure relevant processes are in place for implementation of the clinical audit Strategy in conjunction with the Clinical Audit team and other colleagues at the Clinical Affairs Directorate
Lead and facilitate the development of multidisciplinary Clinical Audit program, including the preparation of detailed audit proposals for consideration by the Clinical Affairs Executive Director
Monitor the quality of clinical audit projects and ensure effective use of the
clinical audit project database/registration system and use of the rolling audit program time and report activity to the Clinical Effectiveness Manager
Lead and undertake effective clinical audit and to support the development and implementation of the PHCC Clinical Audit Strategy
Ensure appropriate planning and communication for projects with cross divisions/directorates/sections
Leading the Audit Process

Lead and assist audit and clinical effectiveness staff with prioritizing areas for clinical audit by:

Promoting the use of incident data, complaints, claims and surveys for identifying audit priorities
Liaise with the Information Department to identify audit topics from benchmarking data and Key Performance Indicators
Liaise with Quality Department to identify audit topics from trends of different quality improvement indicators
Lead and assist Clinical Audit team:

To select evidence based standards, guidelines and criteria for audit
To select appropriate sample size
To select appropriate data collection tool
To analyze audit data and compare with evidence based practice
Prepare audit report with detailed recommendations and action plans
Preparation of detailed reports including recommendations and appropriate action plans
Maintain up to date and accurate records of clinical audit activity and of resulting action plans, in order to effectively manage re-audit and closure of the audit loop.
Support and contribute to the development of clinical benchmarking for designated specialties.
Communication and Collaboration

Support the Manager of Clinical Effectiveness in developing the Clinical audit plan including developing individual Audit Proposal for approval from Executive Director of Clinical Affairs.
Ensure the Directorates annual audit and effectiveness plans are aligned with the PHCC’s strategy and priorities for quality assurance
Maintain effective communication with clinical audit teams, physician and nursing leads and address concerns to the department manager or the Executive Director of Clinical Affairs.
Works closely with various management teams in different departments to assess satisfaction levels of performance and functioning of the medical services.
Supervise clinical audit staff and provide advice/support when required and train new clinical audit staff
Work collaboratively with other members of the Clinical Affairs Department and with other relevant departments, when required
Maintain and update knowledge of best practices and developments in Clinical Audit and Effectiveness, and feedback to the clinical audit team via appropriate routes.
Comply with Qatar national health strategy

Ensures that the clinical effectiveness and audit projects are aligned with Qatar national health strategy

Partner with line manager to understand risks in your area of work, develop a plan on how to mitigate those risks, and develop shared accountability for implementing and evaluating the plan.
