ABOUT THE JOB

Police Scotland are looking for a number of Finance Business Partners to join our Finance Team. The roles will be based in Glasgow, Edinburgh of Dundee however travel between various Police Scotland locations across the country will be required as part of this role.

Each Finance Business Partner will be responsible for the provision of high quality financial information and analysis, expert advice and support to their portfolios, supporting service leads to effectively manage service delivery within available financial resources, and delivering optimal value for public money from their business areas. 

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (CCAB/CIMA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly build effective working relationships with key stakeholders, both finance and non-finance
  • Ability to convey technical information and requirements to a non-technical audience
  • Confidence and credibility in dealing with senior non-finance stakeholders
  • Ability to negotiate and constructively challenge senior stakeholders
  • Confident working on own initiative and adopting a pro-active solutions driven approach
  • Ability to think beyond their own role and team, using knowledge of external environment to maximise internal capabilities

In return, these roles provide candidates with an opportunity to build up hands-on experience in a fast-moving environment, across a number of operational policing divisions and corporate services departments, whilst helping the organisation to achieve its purpose of improving the safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities in Scotland.

There are 2 x full time permanent posts and 1 x full time temporary 12 month post which both require Standard Recruitment Vetting. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
